1. What we keep
When you sign in to a Family hearth account we store the data you create inside the app: family members, calendars, chores, meals, notes, photos, and your customization choices. We store these so we can sync your dashboard across your devices and back it up.
2. What we never collect
- Anything you don't type into the app yourself.
- Microphone, camera, location, or contacts (unless you explicitly attach them).
- Browsing activity outside Meadow & Mantel.
- Aggregate "behavior" data sold to advertisers — we have no advertisers.
3. Where it lives
The free demo runs entirely in your browser. Nothing leaves your device. On the Family hearth plan, your data is encrypted at rest in a regional database close to where you signed up (US, EU, or AU), and encrypted in transit using TLS.
4. Who can see it
Only the people you invite to your family. Our staff cannot read your data; debugging tools show structure (table names, error stacks) but not contents. Court orders are responded to in accordance with applicable law and disclosed in our annual transparency report.
5. Cookies & analytics
We use a strictly necessary session cookie for sign-in. We use a privacy-respecting, first-party analytics tool to count page views in aggregate — no cross-site tracking, no third-party cookies, no fingerprinting.
6. Children
Children are core users in any family app. Parents control any data added on a child's behalf. We don't market to children, surface ads, or send notifications to child profiles.
7. Your rights
You can export your full dataset (.json + .ics + media zip) any time from Settings → Export. You can permanently delete your account from Settings → Danger zone; we delete from primary storage within 7 days and from backups within 30.
